If you could ask them they wouldn't describe themselves as flashy, or kitschy, hip, or camp, punk or rock and roll; none of these terms mean anything to them. If I am feeling bold enough to speak for them, I would describe them as being happily and obliviously functional. It is only their environment, the walls that they lean on and the ground to which they are anchored that give any attribution of so called personality. I think they would take exception to my use of the adverb "happily" to describe their state of being.
